The news that Lionsgate is planning to make a sequel to its 2012 hit Lionsgate – the movie that made Michael Fassbender famous – has been confirmed.
The news comes from sources close to the film, and comes with the film set to be released in 2018.
“The Lion’s gate” was one of the most successful films of the last decade, earning a record $3.4bn at the box office.
Lionsgate, which is producing the sequel, will have a budget of about $30m, according to the report.
The film was shot by Tom Hooper and is set in the 1960s.
It is directed by Scott Cooper, and was co-written by the late Michael Cuesta, who co-wrote the first two movies.
A sequel has been in the works for several years.
In February, Lionsgate had a planned film for 2018, but it has since been cancelled due to financial issues.
The studio is also developing a TV series, but the network has not decided if it will make the film.
It’s understood that the studio has been working on a film based on the book series, and the script has been rewritten by the book’s author, Neil Gaiman.
Sources close to Lionsgate told The Irish Times that the new film will be set in a post-apocalyptic world.
It will be shot on location in New Zealand.
Sources also told the newspaper that the film will include an action sequence featuring two young women fighting off a gang of thieves.
Sources added that the story is set after the events of the first film.
“There are a lot of things that are very different.
But the tone of the film is very much the same, so it should be as faithful as possible to the source material,” one of those sources said.
Lions Gate has been producing its own original films, including the hit “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and the remake of “Downton Abbey”.
Lionsgate released “The Lionsgate Chronicles” in 2010 and followed up with the hit sequel “Fifty Shades of Grey” in 2014.
It also released the second of its two live-action feature films, “Lions Gate: The Sequel” in 2017.
