The tension between the Palestinians and the Israeli authorities has grown in recent weeks as Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the West Bank protested against the demolitions of their homes.
In recent days, there have been multiple incidents of Israeli soldiers hitting Palestinians with stun grenades, rubber bullets and rubber bullets fired by Palestinians.
On Sunday, Palestinian protesters hurled rocks at the entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, according to the Israeli news site Ynet.
Some of the stones were fired from a vehicle, while others were thrown from the direction of the compound.
The Israeli military also responded by using stun grenades and tear gas.
In response, a group of Palestinians set up barricades to block the entrance.
On Wednesday, the Palestinian protesters threw rocks at Israeli soldiers who were stationed at the West bank border fence with the West Jerusalem neighborhoods of Beit Hanina and Kiryat Arba.
On Monday, the same protesters threw stones at Israeli forces, and on Tuesday, another group of protesters threw fireworks and bottles at the soldiers.
In all, three Palestinians have been injured by Israeli forces during the protests.
On Tuesday, the Israeli military said it had detained a young man for throwing a rock at a settler during a demonstration near the fence.
A Palestinian man, identified as Ahmed Abu Marwan, was detained on suspicion of throwing a stone at an Israeli soldier.
According to the police, he was arrested for throwing an object at an officer.
On Friday, Palestinian youth were involved in a shooting incident in Jerusalem, the al-Aksa neighborhood, near Jerusalem’s Al-Bureij checkpoint.
An Israeli military vehicle was damaged and one person was injured when a Palestinian boy threw a firebomb at the Israeli soldiers stationed there, according the Jerusalem Post.
On Tuesday, a Palestinian man shot and wounded a Border Police officer after a group was seen throwing rocks at him, the Jerusalem Police said.
On Wednesday, Israeli forces responded with tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protesters.
In the past week, the violence has escalated.
On Monday, an Israeli army patrol car was damaged when Palestinian youths threw stones from a car that was parked near the border fence in the area of Ramallah, near the Westbank settlement of Kiryati, according Israeli media.
In a video posted on social media, the police officer was seen with his arm up and screaming at the protesters as they threw rocks.
On the same day, the officer was injured in a clash with Palestinians who tried to attack him.
A video posted by the Jerusalem Media Center on Thursday showed the Israeli forces using tear gas against Palestinian demonstrators.
On Friday, Israeli authorities announced that the Israeli army was using teargas on the demonstrators.
A video posted Friday by the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades showed the tear gas being deployed against the protesters and showed police officers firing rubber bullets into the air.
